From the exterior, this Cape Porpoise home is a traditional dormered Cape with coastal cottage design on the water side. The inside is rustic modern in style with an open plan, ample windows, light colors, white kitchen cabinetry, granite countertops, chrome fixtures, and simple trim detail on windows and doors. The rustic feel is engendered by use of wood. The living room’s walls and cathedral ceiling are entirely clad in V-match pine, custom milled to avoid knots, giving it a cleaner look. The floors, stair treads, custom hall cabinet, and custom bathroom vanities are of random-width reclaimed walnut. This home was featured in the January 2014 edition of Maine Home+Design.
